New original abstract landscape paintings available in my online shop.

I am excited to share with you four new, one of a kind wall art for interiors. They are small scale colourful abstract landscapes and the collection is called ‘HOME' only my second painting release this year. Only availble from my website.
Inspiration
I have always been interested in the environments we live in, whether it is the interiors we choose or the neighbourhoods we settle in, and how it can impact on our sense of wellbeing and identity.
The inspiration behind these paintings is particularly in response to the landscape and how we are so small in comparison to the forces of nature and how quickly nature can change and bring chaos into our lives. Yet, our homes can anchor us into that landscape providing protection, comfort, refuge and place of return, even when a storm is brewing outside.
Materials & Process
Handpainted and slow-made using bright yet subtle acrylic gouache paint which gives a rich matt finish on recyclable yupo paper. The artworks are secured onto wooden cradled panels, from 4x4inch to 8x8inch, ready to hang or sit on a shelf. The materials I use are sourced for their vegan credentials, wherever possible.
With this collection I slowly built up layers of paint and textures, responding to what has been laid down before. My main task is to switch off my critical thinking as I find it gets in the way of creative flow. I am looking for both harmony and contrast to create an overall balanced composition with energetic marks to break-up the blocks of colour beneath giving a playful, light feeling.
Colours are important to me and I don't shy away from using a bright and rich colour palette. Colours hold so much meaning and this colour palette is both relaxing, calming and nurturing set against pops of luminous reds, hot pinks and cheerful yellows to bring vibrancy and vitality to the painting.
What people are saying.
‘There is a whole little world in this tiny canvas. I love it’.
‘Beautiful, love the delightful colours. Your work always lifts me’.
'This looks terrific. Both the colour palette and design are exquisite'.
‘Beautiful bold happy colours and shapes bouncing off each other.’
What does your home mean to you?
Would you say that it represents you and expresses your personality? What sort of environment do you feel safe and secure in and can fully be yourself? Where would your ideal place to live be if money was no object?
